Since purchasing my 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ81 RHD I have invested a few dollars into the rig, everything from the suspension to the paint, as well as several aftermarket upgrades. The rig sits at 244k (151k miles) kilometers, I have put just north of 2k miles on the vehicle since purchasing it. It is our third car and mainly our weekend getaway vehicle. I have receipts for almost all of the work that has been done since purchasing the vehicle, does not have third row seating.

Owned the vehicle for just over 18 months

$5k in paint work to the body
Why was this done? Do you have before pics? Was there any paint or coating applied to the undercarriage?
Thanks

It was done for multiple reason, first was there were spots in the trucks paint that were faded and or had chips. Secondly there was Utah rust on the undercarriage, but not that bad due to it being imported in 2016. However, there was one point of concern pertaining rust near the rear passenger door. I had it completely cut out and repaired by my body and paint shop. I have pictures of the entire process and the truck before and after. If I didn’t answer anything please just let me know.

Pics of the undercarriage before coating?

I have seen that rig in person, it was beyond clean. I wish i would of got it.

Beautiful truck. It looks like you did everything the right way. I just bought a 1993 HDJ81 about three weeks ago and live in SLC. Too bad this wasn't for sale then, I would have been pretty tempted. Who did your exhaust work?

Thank you! If you live in the salt lake area go to state automotive and talk to Dustin, he’s the owner. He did my exhaust and basically everything I couldn’t do myself, great people that do a great job.

First, Jerbrea, Old Man Emu Lift .. The EMU Shocks are sweet / 51mm pistons / rebuildable .. Love the wheelz / tirez ? ..

I just purchased a RHD 1995 HDJ81 24v .. It's pretty much stock .. I plan to add either an Old Man Emu lift kit or Icon Stage 2 lift .. Does anyone have any preferences over these two lift kits ? ..

I posted a listing of any Ebay Auction of a 1996 HDJ81 24v RHD that is not kitted out HERE ..

I went with old man due to it being tried and true brother, and if you have any questions during your build just pm or hit me here. Good luck.
