Using a hand winch to lift hydraulic press table with one cable

I'm curious if any of you geniuses lifting your press table with a hand winch and a single cable using pulleys? I bought a hand winch from HF and trying to figure out a way to lift the table evenly vs lifting one side higher than the other side using a single cable.

Wonder if I can just take the whole cable off, find the half way point and attach that to the drum. This way, I'll have two free ends to connect to either sides of the table. Let me go see if this is feasible.

Hook one end of the come-along to the right side and the cable end to the left side over the top of the press. As the cable gets shorter both ends come up...

Thanks for the idea Nick, looks like I got it. The space where this press lives will not allow a winch on the side of the unit so it had to go on top.
