Hey guys, new member and new owner as well. I recently picked up a 97 landcruiser. It had a knock in the motor and was priced accordingly. I have searched a few sites online to try and find a used motor to drop in. I have only found a few motors. Any recommendations?

Thanks, for the replies. Some of these online sites seem a bit shady. I guess its a roll of the dice with a used motor anyway.

Also put a wanted: ad on your local craigslist or the craigslist in the biggest city close to you, amazing how many calls you’ll get

That’s the site I have have used. Hopefully the motor will get pulled next week and I’ll decided which direction to go rebuild/buy used.
I plan on keeping this one for a while.
dont you need to pull the timing cover also and change the spacer over to the cog for the crank sensor? good chance to mess up the head gasket doing that i would think but i have never tried it.
