Looking for some people to reach out who have done this already. I understand the paper behind getting it over the border and I know it needs to be inspected before registering it.

What will pass or what will fail inspection. I’ll post pictures of a cruiser that has two small holes. If this is a instant fail what are some quick reversible solutions to fill or cover the holes up for inspection?

Brost ... I have done this MANY times
It does not haver to be inspected until your ready to register the vehicle officially
I usually bring in a vehicle, completely rebuild or repair it and then certify it when your ready

No issue and very easy

Steve

Thanks for the reply. The green one pictured is being stripped back to original spring green. I would like to keep original paint. The passenger rocker and just infront of passenger rear tire are the small cancer spots. I would like to leave it as is and not patch it until I went after a full restaoration. Would these small rust spots not pass inspection?

I have the exact same question. Boost, how did your BC inspection go?

My 40 is in similar condition just sitting in Oregon. I want to bring it up to BC but I am worried about the inspection because of rear channel rust and minor alterations like aftermarket seats/brackets. Any tips would be great.

I ended up with a different 40. Hasn’t been inspected. Was told weatherstripping will fail Bc inspection so ordering all new stuff for the doors and I need a new front turn signal. Should hopefully pass after that.

Good luck! Let me know if you learn anything else.

Wow pretty strict inspection rules— those look like mere flesh wounds— and here I thought CA was bad (it is; just not on inspections)

Weather stripping an issue with inspection? I didn't realize we were as far along as we were for achieving the lowest common demoninator.

Australia is another place that has a ton of regulations. Change seats needs to be inspected. 2014 I registered a vehicle in AZ that was from OR. Vehicle didn't even need to be there since it was being registered in a non emissions part of the state. At one time that they did inspections. Then was just checking the VIN. Now not even that. There are no safety inspections required here. Not uncommon to see cars you can tell that have been T-boned at some point driving with current tags. Insurance is high because of all the uninsured vehicles on the road. Even the insurance requirement is so low have to have under insured as well as uninsured coverage.
