Well after all my reading, asking questions, etc my Alcan's arrived today! :bounce: Hopefully I'll be resprung in a couple of weeks.

Here's my current setup I'm building:

'77 FJ40
fresh & balanced 2F with 38 Weber & SOR 2 pc header
3" Alcan springs setup for winch, hardtop, my big butt, plus a few goodies
Man-a-fre greasable Anti-Inversion shackles (plus 3/4")
CCOT greasable pins
BFG 33x10.50 MTR's
'84 Toyota 1ton PU Power Brake Booster
'94 LandCruiser Brake Master Cylinder


Future adds:

Scout or FJ60 Power Steering
Rear Disc Brakes
Ford EDIS Ignition (distributorless)

That ignition sounds challenging. Are you going to use some type of flywheel or crank trigger setup?
 
The ignition is really quite easy. I've built the controller, and picked up the used coil pack and Ford EDIS module. The only tricky part is mounting the crank sensor and toothed wheel. I bought the toothed wheel from Ford, less than $20, and it looks pretty straight forward to mount it to the back of the harmonic balancer.

The nice features of EDIS is that you get multiple sparks at low rpm, compact coil pack, cheap parts, and you can tune your own spark advance to what ever you want.

As soon as I get it going, I'll post some pics and results.
