Is the upper tailgate the same on all models of 100 series. Ie the hinges aren’t wider apart on facelift models 2002 on

As far as I can tell, Yes the upper tailgate is the same on all 100 series. The exception would be the Land Cruiser highlighted with yellow sticker/strap see the picture below;

Thanks it’s just my pal bought a second hand one but the hinges aren’t as wide so I suspect it’s maybe an 80 series

Yes, it could be for the 80 series.
