Can someone tell me what the hard line is on the bottom of the upper intake manifold? See the circled line. It has a soft cap on it to block it off.

Look under your hood, upper right corner as looking in.
There should be a label like this.

The line you are referencing goes to the TVV, (Thermal Vacuum Valve).
Its a valve that only opens above a certain coolant temperature that draws a vacuum from port P to the VCV allowing vacuum to be applied the charcoal canister. When the VCV functions via the TVV, Fuel fumes trapped in the Canister are burned off by being sucked into the port closest to the intake manifold through the throttle body.

Thanks, but that isn't what mine looks like. I'll snap a picture this morning. From the very few pictures I can find of the underside of the upper intake manifold, from what I can see, they are all capped like mine, but it's a bit hard to tell. In the first post, the small red circle on the LH side appears to show the cap I'm talking about....that is, it isn't hooked to anything, but rather is blocked off.

Will get a pic in a bit...

Its a 1FZ FE right?
Are you the original owner?

Are you the original owner and is it USA spec truck?

Here you go. The hard line "T" in the second picture goes to the EVAP VCV...

Awesome thanks. Out of curiosity do you know why it was done?

I can take guesses, but no, I don't have the actual reason.
