Pretty lame comparison. How about what Toyota did in the turbo'd supras or turbo'd 22R? I bet they did. It is entirely likely that without an intercooler the 180-215 deg F coolant might actually assist in cooling the charge going into the intake manifold. At the very minimum it stabilizes the temps. you can draw your own conclusions about what you think the pros/cons of that is...

My 22RTE had it too, and I deleted it without issue as well. I see this the other way around, if there is 'icing' in the Tbody without running coolant thru it, I can't think of a better condition (ice intercooler?) for a SC/Turbo application.

The germans don't seem to think it's necessary with turbo engines. I only see 'cons' with removing the circuit if there is a negative consequence for doing so.

its running leak free now. hope it stays that way

first pic is of the leaky fitting

2nd pic is of the right fitting (18mm)

3rd pic is of the new look with water lines. that is 6an stainless

i got rid of the turbo wrap and bent up a heat shield from 25g steel. I have read that turbine wrappingt can help hold in heat at shut down and thus promote coking in the bearings. I dont know but will give the shield a try. I also did away with mt 3/16 and my 1/16 inch restrictor. I am using a 1/8 inch oil restrictor now. I am getting tired of the turbo thing. would rather be welding suspension

I need to go slower not faster. Anyone want to trade a marlin box for my turbo?

I used the rear heater lines and looped them through the turbo on my `90 4Runner. It worked great, but the rubber hoses tend to get a little brittle at the turbo fittings. Next turbo project I will add some hard lines, or braided versions leading off of the turbo.

Might be interesting to see if the turbo diesel 80's use the Tbody circuit. I doubt it.

Diesel engines don't throttle their incoming air charge, they don't have throttle bodies/plates. This may not be a valid comparison.
