What do you plan to do with the truck?

I've heard of virtually zero problems with stock control arms, despite some users beating them pretty hard, and when you run things like aftermarket LCA/UCA they pretty much always come with compromises like squeaky joints and bushings.

All of that said I haven't seen much discussion on them, outside of a few people running camburgs or TC arms with their tundra front end swaps. Maybe some of those guys can chime in.

You can buy a LOT of OEM arms for $2600. That's nuts.

I just want to beef up the front up. I have added a good deal of weight to my rig. Thanks for the info

They claim they are "stock" 😉

My Tundra stock arms have been holding up well even using King bumps.

Agreed with others. When the stock arms are up to Baja 1000 duty, with 37s, that's pretty much the definition of strength and hard to need better. They're also getting huge travel so the OEM joints aren't necessarily a limitation.

Canguro seems to have swapped over to Tundra arms more recently. Older pics show tires flush with the body, versus newer pics showing some poke. We'll see if they equally hold up. There's been some rumblings that the 200-series arms use larger hardware and bolts to the Tundra arms. I've heard as high as 15" travel quoted and it's not obvious if this is on the 200-series length arms, or the longer Tundra arms.

The cost is just insane, ive been looking at them myself as an excuse for a ball joint replacement, but it just doesn’t make any sense.

And the Toyota joints are some of the best out anyway. Unless you need major travel extension, i think the money is better spent elsewhere.

Would be cool if I could have matching ironman lowers though…

If I were going to sink $2600 in the front end of a 200 series, I'd do a Tundra Swap with mostly new parts and a decent set of aftermarket UCAs to get the camber right... There are some very heavy rigs on here, and there are examples like Monica, and I have yet to hear of one LCA failure.

What parts would I have to replace? I already have icon upper control arms. Would those still be compatible?

Does OTRE stand for? Would this make the front and stick out wider than the rear?

“Outer tie rod end” and yes, front will stick out around 1.5” per side more, give or take a hair

Would that affect the on the road handling at all?

Yes, at least it did on mine, but I've also changed so much it's hard for me to quantify it or even really describe it as a good or bad thing. So, basically a totally useless answer on my part, sorry!

Good and bad agreed, mostly bad though lol.
