Stock bulbs are 4500k D4S Philips. Given technology today, LEDs will underperform HiDs in nearly every comparable housing scenario. If you are replacing halogen with LED, that is likely an upgrade. HiD replaced with LED, definitely not an upgrade.
That and newer HID’s have improved significantly. The Osram Nightbreaker Lasers are supposedly the gold standard at the moment.

Question: why did you go with the 4500 vs the 5500? I’m looking on their site and the 5500 is cheaper. Does the 4500 work better with the housing lendse?
It doesn't have anything to do with the lens. 4500 will make light that works better for you to actually see things. People only go with the higher color temperature to look "cool".

Perfect, thanks. I'm not interested in looks, just performance.

The 200 2013-2015 lens/projector is designed to work with an HiD element. This is part of the reason the LED light output sucks in an HiD housing. To lx200inAR's point, color is irrelevant to beam pattern. 4500k is closest to daylight. Lumen output decreases significantly over 6000k.
