I recently installed a cityracer 2F/1.5F carburetor (similar to 21100-61012) on my 1976 FJ40.
My 40 is a 9/75 build and may have started its life in California so it came with the oddball stuff like a retard dizzy, the funky cali carb with the temp sender in it, hard fuel lines and a fuel pump that has only a soft line in and a hard line out. The stock carb that I removed had a hard return line running from it back to the tank. My new carb does not have this return line. So my question is, do I need a return line? Should I upgrade to a newer 23100-61050 pump that has a bypass/return built in? My guess is I need to do something, but figured it would be a good idea to ask here first.
thanks for any insight.
