Drove this around the UAE a bit. Even up-armored the 5.7 has as much seat-of-the-pants as my 99 UZJ does without the ballistic protection.

Cloth, manual seats...pretty cool.

Very cool. Might actually be useful here in Jackson, MS. :bang:

Do you have any pics on how they protect the engine area?

Yeah, I have always wanted to know how they protect the radiator and do so without hurting the cooling abilities.

Man you get to drive some BadAss machines.

I kind of dig the look without the rails.

Only the passenger compartment is armored. None of the LCs or Suburbans I've seen over here have armor for the engine bay. Seems weird, I know...but I'd guess its a cost vs. risk equation.

I really want to drive some of the 70 Series pickups and Fourtuners they have over here...but can't get anyone to volunteer an opportunity.

Also...you need to update the thread on your 40!

I know. i have a pile of parts and a list of stuff to accomplish. It will get there.

Interestingly enough, driving the new 200 has got the creative juices flowing again. Searching the threads looking for mods for the 200 seems to be motivating me to get something done. There is nothing like daily driving a Land Cruiser. And the 200 is all Land Cruiser.

Garth thanks for the reply; yup the passengers are usually important and ramming anything to get out or away. And hopefully the bullets are behind you. Plus the bad guys usually go for the tires; they have those overrides things in them so no limp mode goes into effect if damage come to engine. Or at least I hope your has that :)

What size tires are those?

Sorry...wish I'd have checked. Heading back CONUS now. Give me 9 months and I'll update this thread with that info!

If I had the $$$ I would have them build me one.

Well duh. Of course you would. I would too. Something in the 42" variety. :bounce:

safe travels Garth; actually Arctic Trucks sells that override thingy so you can run full blast with damage and no "LIMP MODE"
