Hi Folks
I've been looking at a 2002 Limited that looks promising except for one thing: When in 4 wheel drive, the traction control engages for the first second after you depress the accelerator. At least, that's what I think it is.
I hear a rapid rattle noise that sounds like it is coming from directly behind the dash board and the traction control light comes on for about a second. I originally thought a front u-joint was binding or otherwise making noise, but when I noticed the traction control light coming on, I realized that what I was hearing was the antilock brake mechanism cycling. That's my theory anyway.
Note that this was on pavement. The sound only lasts for about a second. I only drove it about 10-20 yards in 4 wheel drive.
Any ideas what this might be? Thanks!
