My cruiser is up at Garden state undercoating in New Jersey. Another member got it and evidently a ton of FJ Cruiser and 4Runner guys in the area use them. I wanted to share some photos of the progress.

He cleaned, grinded, primed, painted, and is now coating with fluid film.

I know this isn’t a perfect process but I think the results look great and I’m hoping to at least extend the life of my undercarriage a decent amount.

Also they found that common area in the back cross member is deteriorating but it’s not terrible. Good for now and I’m going to keep an eye on it.

Here is the finished product:

Here is what it looked like when I dropped it off.

That looks really good. What do they charge for that?

Damn that's looking good. I trust there are still a bunch of spots they just cant get to but just for the visual appeal that's worth getting done.

+1 Interested.

Quoted for around $2,200 $2,500 all in.
EDIT: Updated the final price. It included the full clean, grind, and paint mentioned before plus the fluid film coating.

100%. Can’t get everywhere but I’m hoping this will slow things down and some visual appeal to boot.

Not bad, I'd rather do that then pay similar to replace my torn up seats.

Definitely worth it. What's the orange stuff - rust converter/primer?

What happened to the passenger side quarter? Looks far worse than the undercarriage.

Do they use fluid film over paint or just in the frame and crossmembers where they could not clean or paint?

The fluid film will get to those spots. It creeps wonderfully well.
I had bad luck with fluid film. Seems like it just attracted more dirt for me. I've tried to apply it a bit better/thinner on other applications but I've been hesitant to apply that again.

They are local to me and everyone raves about their work. I have a friend that just had his fjcruiser done and from what I understand they sand, prime, paint, and then fluid film the inside of the frame with a snake gun, similar to what Toyota dealers are doing with the tacomas now.

I love it. Been spraying our Yotas’ frames for 15 years with the stuff. Has effectively kept rust at bay.

I have to be careful because the last time I said this I had to go to sensitivity training, but that's a really sexy undercarriage you have there.

that's pretty sick, even the brake calipers.

I've used wool wax, and works well. This year I'm trying some Blaster surface shield, been hearing good things.
I ordered from home depot, couldn't find anywhere else.

The silicone or lanolin based spray ons are just no comparison to a fully sanded, primed, and painted undercarriage. Looks so nice and definitely added some serious rust protection.

Although I agree, I do all that plus fluid film. The paint chips/scratches over time, and the fluid film prevents rust from starting.
