i got a GREAT deal on a 60 and im pulling out the 2f for my 40, but i cant get the tranny unbolted from the bellhousing on the pass side. its the ONLY thing in my way of taking the motor out, any one got any tips or of want to tell me how they have done it!

I like to pull the motor, trans and t-case all in one piece then separate them on the floor. Otherwise a long extension (I have a 24" extension for that kinda' stuff) and socket works IIRC. I don't recall anything being really in the way otherwise.

yep, what nick said. I bought the longest 1/2 extension that sears had. I might also have to use a second, shorter one to clear the back of the transfer case. Put a socket on one end and a breaker bar on the other. Lefty loosey.
 
I Just pulled mine and used a long extension and a breaker bar. The Drivers side was harder, maybe because the exhaust is on that side and the bolts got "heat treated" for 20 years.

Are you having trouble getting them loose or just reaching them?
