How much clearance is there between the piston and valves on a 1FZ? Is it tight enough that if a rod bearing spun, the piston could contact a valve? Trying to wrap my head around 25psi in multiple cylinders. Some metal must have circulated or something fairly catastrophic. Okay. I’m the Debbie downer now.
 
EDIT: crank bearing spinning wouldn't have any impact on the cam/crank timing. The timing chain would have to fail, but if it did, I do believe this is an interference engine. Rod bearing spinning would def cause the pistons and valves to get too friendly, but then the problem would be *mostly* isolated to that cylinder.

For 5 cylinders to show 25psi, the head gasket would have had to blow between 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, and 5-6, not very likely. Kenny's old 3FE was the worst I'd ever seen, with the head gasket blown in two places, not 5.
 
5 cylinders at 25psi? maybe the gauge is wrong? albeit very possible running so low on oil. I would imagine some variance between cylinders.
 
I need to replace my control arm bushings. Front and rear.

The rubicon absolutely destroyed every single bushing on my truck!

So I will need:
6 bushings for the 2 front control arms.
2 bushings for the front Panhard bar.

4 bushings for the upper rear control arms.
4 bushings for the lower rear control arms.
2 bushings rear Panhard bar.

I was planning on replacing all with Toyota bushings but slee has “flex” bushings for both upper and lower rear control arms.

Does anyone have any experience with slee these? Or do I just stick with my original plan and go with Toyota parts?

Poor 80 hasn’t been the same after Rubithon so I am trying to give it some much needed maintenance and love.

Install OEM bushings.
Drive to the alignment.
Remove the front bolt and install alignment bolts on top with nuts and washers.
Turn the alignment nut to correct caster.
Drive home very slowly.

Push control arms up to the alignment bolts. Mark holes and drill. Install OEM control arm bolts.

So got updates from my friends when I got to talk to them in person today. Cyl 6 had 125psi, cyl 5 had 70psi-ish, 1-4 had like 20-30. So it does sound like more is at fault. But before my HG blew, my motor ran perfectly, had good power, and it never got hot on me a single time. So this confuses me. Only issues I ever had with low power was O2 sensor related.
 
Kenny's old 3FE never gave any problems before it died. Had slightly lower compression numbers to the above, but the cylinder walls were roached.

Don't buy any parts before pulling it apart.

I am still waiting on Fred Anderson Toyota to get the bushings I ordered or else I would get this done this weekend.
 
@40LandCruising when my motor went I looked a lot on car-part.com and at the time there were plenty of options at the junkyards 1FZ wise. Prices were reasonable and more than a few had relatively low miles. From a standpoint of getting back on the road cheap that might be your best bet.

@40LandCruising when my motor went I looked a lot on car-part.com and at the time there were plenty of options at the junkyards 1FZ wise. Prices were reasonable and more than a few had relatively low miles. From a standpoint of getting back on the road cheap that might be your best bet.
Depending on what I find out when I dig deeper in my motor that might be what I do. My concern about that is just I feel like I might end up in the same boat I’m in now. Especially with no maintenance record or anything.

I used 3/16" steel donated by @fourtrax.
