Hi All - so I've been in build planning mode for quite a while and will eventually to do a retrospective build thread but for now nothing I'd add would be any different than what's already out there. I just share that since I tend to jump in/out of threads seemingly without purpose. But I digress... the real reason I'm posting is to get input and also to see if anyone has suspension parts lying around that might work for me.

I want a 2" - 3" lift while maintaining on road drive quality, and understand this will be a temporary solution so keeping upfront $$ and $$ lost (what I paid for shocks/springs vs what I can sell for used) to a minimum is a priority. I will be converting the front end to Tundra front end - I have the axles, lower As, and tie rod ends sitting here. So I can convert now and it won't be wasted effort or $$. Means I'm looking for Tundra front, LC rear setup. I'm planning to purchase aftermarket Tundra UCAs that will work for this and future setup so no loss there.

I'm using the OME Medium kit that Slee offers as baseline, costs around $1k. I'm also keeping tuned to Craigslist for used Tundra suspensions that might pop up for the front end (Atwalz scored recently on a pair of ICONs!) but then I'd have to try and match the rear or could they be different (for example OME rear and something different in the front)? I'm open to used components.

Whatever I get, I'd end up getting rid of it in 6 months to a year, there would be some resale value for a slightly used suspension, but application would be for Tundra/LC combo which most aren't running.

Then the plan is to install a 2.5 or 3.0 system from King through (@bjowett ).

Thanks for your time.

It was hard to follow the post as to what you are looking for right now.
Inexpensive cruiser components to lift the truck while gathering Tundra stuff?

To satisfy the lift bug, while waiting for the big show, start with the Toyota shim. It will level out the truck (with rear stock height) and only cost $79.
Try to find quality rear shocks: Icon, radflow, King, fox if you are going to run something similar in the front. You can run those with stock height springs until you are ready to lift. Then just go in and add the OME springs.

I'm running stock LC shocks up front with the shim and clearing 34s* (on road only)

* toyo ATII 285/75/17 measured 33.5" installed.

Doing much else is just sunk cost and hassle.

Yeah, sorry hard to explain. My end goal is Tundra setup w/ Kings. I already have the OEM Tundra parts - lower As, CV axles, tie rod ends. I don't yet have the aftermarket UCAs, but I can get them now to complete the Tundra front end conversion (ie this is already w/in the planned budget and fits in future suspension plans). So at this point the Tundra part of the equation is solved for. I would still need shocks/springs (Tundra front/LC rear). And yes good point on the Toyota spacers, I have them already and forgot to mention.

So what I'm debating is buying OME Nitro front Tundra, and OME Nitro LC rear ($1k total), running it for 6 months to a year and then upgrading to Kings all around (and sell the OME setup). But at the same time, before I spend $$ on a losing proposition I'm open to used parts, or some combo thereof. I know a lot of guys on here do testing and tinkering, if you have components you'd like to sell let me know.

Clear as mud?

And yes I may lose a few hundred bucks doing it this way but I discount that with a years worth of enjoyment! And who knows, maybe I'll decide I don't "need" those Kings.

Clear as IH8MUD. :flipoff2:

Haha... btw you mention running stock LC shocks up front, how is that w/ the Tundra IFS? Icons?

short.....doesn't ride horrible, but I do miss the Icons.
just a temporary set up while Icons are getting rebuilt.
If you have the Tundra set up ready to go, you could install everything and get Bilstien lift struts for the Tundra. They would ride a little stiff, but would be easier to sell down the road.

first pic is with Icons installed, riding at 24" from hub to fender.
second pic is with stock shocks and 10mm spacer.
