So when trying to figure out what was wrong with my turn signals, i came across a loose wire in the dash that gets extremely hot when playing around with the signal switch. I traced the wire to the signal switch and found out it was the wire that goes to the brake switch, according to coolerman's diagram here:

My question is, could the fact that this wire is not connecting to anything be a solution to my turn signal issues? (only one corner flashes...all grounds are checked and wires are new...)
what does the brake switch wire to the signal switch do? Am i missing anything by not having it connected to the brake switch?
Sorry if the answer is obvious, i'm an electrical newb...
Thanks!
