I've just removed the rear half of my exhaust system. The exhaust outlet is now just in front of the rear wheel. Feels like she spools up quicker, and sounds good, like a cruiser should.

When I switch off the motor, the turbo continues spinning for about 2 seconds, as expected, but makes a slightly unpleasant grinding sound as it finally comes to a complete stop. This sound is only noticeable through the exhaust outlet, and not from the enigne bay at all. Any comments? Normal sound? What do other guys turbos sound like when switching off.

I've had a suspicion that the turbo may not be performing to it's full potential. Haven't checked boost yet, but 12H-T has the two boost lights on the dash. Green comes on reasonably quickly (3psi?), but have never hit red light (14psi?).

PS Car is stock, for now.

check the end play of the shaft. Both ends.

If it comes apart you will get shards of metal into the intake.

I thought if your wategate are function fine .. you don't gonna see the red light ( overboost ) only the red one .. ( it means ok .. )

Place a provisional boost gauge and take your reads .. and cjeck for play in the shacf ad fellows recomendation.
