Dear DDude

I know the D50 will drop in place perfectly, what sort of gasket do yo use in your set up and where do you find one?

I new a guy in Tahoe area that had a Garrett T3 on his BJ42 and it seemed to have less power than the AXT, but possible if he was running 7lbs instead of tuned for 9psi that might be the case.

I agree the seperate oil system is over kill and more parts to break, I like the AXT setup running off of the sending unit and return back to the oil filter inlet. I also run an oil cooler on my BJ42 and it helps keep things cool :cool:

aston, take your oil pressure off the oil passage along the block. behind the alternator is a plug in the block. It has good pressure at this point. A 1/8 BSP to 1/4 JIC fitting is needed. But it's like a buck or two and no tee's are needed.
Oil return must be double the size of the pressure line. half inch(.500) is needed. Return to the pan only. It is not a pressure return, more of a drain. So keep it unrestricted, no 90 degree angles. Max 45.

I pulled my pan and welded a fitting on. Make sure before you weld where you want to put it. Too low its in the oil and won't drain. Also you don't want to be behind the filter. Also ensure your pan isn't too rusty prior to pulling it off and discovering it. Might be worth while to source a pan prior if this is the case.

Here are some pictures that show where I ran my lines. The blue line is the return line it drains where the alternator vac pump drains and the steel braided line shows where my pressure input line is Tee-d off of the oil pressure sender. I still have a little clean up work to do on the intake, the oil on the top of the filter is just where I cracked the line to make sure it was draining properly.

looking at this picture of the oil return setup and, is that a double banjo fitting? ??made from a bolt?? thanx
 
Easy to build your own...this is mine...approx $60.00 in material and a bit of time. Used 1/2 inch thick cold rolled for flanges and sched. 80 weld-ells and pipe.
You can see the straight in path that #2 port gives the turbo a direct blast and how #3 port is directed to the flow path as is the other 2 ports.

I have a Toyota Brazilian Land Cruiser, so called "Bandeirante". My off-road i powered by Mercedes- Benz truck diesel engine (OM 314) with high troque but low speed. So I put a turbine (.42.63) 0,7 Kg. Now I'm able to ride around, step on the diesel and overtake trucks and low speed cars, mainly in slopes.

This is a great thread but nobody posted a single picture of the oil lines (in the final position ) if somebody can do this , I Will appreciate your help.

Somewhere in this post, is a picture of the return line going to the alternator return line, but later this change and there is no pictures

Is this the final recommended position for the oil lines?
 
Only one good one so far. The above is the 13B-T manifold all shiny and new out of the box, showing the sweet mounting position of the turbo with even lengths for gases from each cylinder to travel to the turbo.

Below is a comparison shot with the stock 3B manifold. Some people have had good luck simply flipping the 3B manifold, I attached a picture from the web of someone who has done this.

I'm about 90% sure this is my motor. The 90 degree pipe adapting the turbo to the manifold is pretty familiar
