ok its in the eagle talon turbo , after about 8 hours, 1 bottle of rye , 2 bottles of vodaka and what ever beer could be found sent $100 on the turbo and maybe $75 on pipe clamps and what ever,
unfreaking belivible the diff in power, it went from a gutless wonder to all the power you need ! thanks eveyone for there help in previous threads, im boosting at 8 pounds still messing with the fuel adjust very happy so far

Lots of detail required..... Post pics and step by step what you did please.

i am trying to get pics off my camera however the turbo went into 1982 bj 60 3b #1 flip the exhaust manifold and went from there, custom intake and just some rerouting to connect into the exhasut again the turbo had a waste gate built into it with a pressure sensitive dashpod , that cuts off boost around 8 pounds will show pics soon

very impresive .. you doit with your hands .. :D why the " special " position of the turbo housing . ?

Very impressive. That turbo is not clocked or set up for a standard install and you made it work. Very good, congrates.

I like it.

To increase the boost, take the line to the "actuator(you call dashpot)" put in a valve to limit the air to the actuator for the pressure side. It will delay the opening of the gate and increase boost.

BUT 8psi is a safe and heathy number. No need to increase it you are happy. I would be tempted to leave it alone.

Cheers

That is a crazy setup! Very "homemade" look. Awesome! What did you do to route the boosted air into the manifold? Looks like you welded a pipe onto the turbo outlet?

optical illusion. The turbo is on its side, pipe from out let of manifold to turbo.

Am I really not seeing this right?

Yes, your not seeing it right.

The output(compressed air) is down on the left, in the middle is the inlet for the exhaust gasses. They are not connected.

The reason for this, IMOP is because it is a weird little front wheel drive turbo, designed to fit in a tight spot and clocked a certain way. The method used here to install it on a 3b is very creative and looks like it works good.

My Merkur one has some strange clocking too. But not that strange.

hey guys , yes it is very home made i can't take all the credit my friend is a talented welder he custom made manifolds to fit the turbo and used basicly scrap laying around aside from a couple of cruved exhaust pipes i purchased,, i still can't beliveve the diff inpower next is a locker diff for the front and then i will try again to climb a hill my boys say i'll never make it i will show them!

man thats smart ! if needed i will limit the presure to the actuator

Damn, that's awsome, for a front diff locker just get a 40 of Jack, some tequila and a 28 pack of whatever is on sale - then all you need is some 40 weight oil, gauze, and some ball bearings (Fletch lives).

Good work!

the orange gue is silicon had too many drinks to make a gasket that day i will however make a proper gasket yet. so to conect compressor out let we made a flange and just welded some pipe together, also dilled a hole and welded in a extra pice of 1/4" brake line for presure feed back, the same line i used to supply oil pressure from the block close to the oil sender by the way most of my info came from this forum thanks have a drink on me!
