The speedo is in mph so, that combined with the 174miles and 110 K comments I would guess conversion? get the vin and car fax it? if it has the DOT stickers, I would guess the next step would be your states smog certs?

I agree with speyrod. The way I read the ad, it was a US spec (LHD) 92 cruiser that was retrofitted with a TD engine that was imported from Japan.

Take a close look at the radiator and fan shroud. That doesn't look like something that would come out of a Toyota factory. Also note that there are no good pics of the shifter area. This would be a difficult area to convert as the Japanese vehicles are RHD. Consoles and shifters would be different than LHD versions.

The way I read it is that the 12H-T engine was imported from Japan and swapped into a Cruiser from the USA.

Late 80's HJ61 came with 12H-T. Early 90's JDM 80 series came with 1HD-T or 1HZ.
