Just a warning to those who have a Tuffy Center Console. This is my story I head to the driving range to hit some balls, I do not golf often only when work requires so I figured the end of July is a great time to start. I grab a $20 from the wallet and put all of my stuff inside wallet, cell phone, Ipod house keys ect. I return to the truck and insert the key and WTF I hear some nut or bolt clank on the bottom of the console and now I am holding the locking mechanism in my hand. Unable to open the top. The console is less than a year old on a truck that does not see many miles. Now all of my stuff is still in the console and I tried for 2 hours to get inside the F'er er I think my only option is to cut the top off with a sawsall, Anyone have any ideas? I have emailed Tuffy so I will keep all of you posted as to how they handle the issue.
Pissed off b/c I my stuff is locked in the console

    Can not visit a locksmith

That would not help b/c the lock is out.

The threads come loose after bouncing around in a 40...

A little blue LocTite does the trick!

    Tuffy has helped

They provided me with instructions on how to get it open with the lock removed. PM me if you need the info I do not want to post it on public forum. They are sending me a new lock/insert free and will repair the lid if needed.

And to all those that are reading this thread and have a Tuffy, always make sure that nut on the back is tight... After a couple of years mine got loose, not enough to fall of but enough that the lock didnt operate right. It took a little while to get into it (pretty secure).
