So now that I have repainted the 40, I’d like to make it last a while. My son, 10, easiest entry to the back seat is to grab the cage and climb up the tire. I’m good with that, but (before I painted it) he would next step on the tub lip to get in. Well that is now a good way to get under dad’s skin.
So I’m looking for a way to protect the fresh paint. Looking at the gas tank, it has a welting(?) to protect It. What’s that called? Anybody solved this problem?

Grainger sells se stuff we use in the electrical trade to provide protection from sharp edges, lete see if I can pull up some info.

Amazon has tons of "trim lock" stuff.
thanks rkymtnflyfisher!
