Well I gota say I'm pissed..
Noticed yesterday that my front left corner bar mounted on the passenger side bumper was leaning out away from the truck. You know it tells you where the front corner of you truck is in relation to walls and other cars and such.
Got fuel today and noticed a big dent in the front bumper.
SOMEONE HIT MY TRUCK.!!!:crybaby:
This is no small dent..an 8" to 9" dia. dent , bumper pushed up and back..:frown: :crybaby:
Thank goodness they never hit my fender!!!!!:)
BUT looks like they really wacked it. :crybaby:

Never EVEN HAD THE curtusy to leave a card or their phone number on my windshield..JUST HIT ME AND RAN!!!!!!

This may have happened at the work parking lot so you can bet I'll be checking the cars Monday morning to see if someone has the corresponding damage on their car..
If they do look out I'll be all over him or her.. looking for cost of straightening it out..
One question what else other than $1000.00 ARB bumpers are you guys using on your trucks as bumpers..

JUST VENTING!!!!! Thanks:frown:

Damn, that sucks Rich. I bet if you wait a couple of weeks and then loook throught your parking lot you will find the culprit.

We came outside a couple mornings ago and there was blood splattered all over the side of our xterra, no idea what hit it, no dents, looks like it came from the sky, maybe a bird strike with aircarft - no clue. My wifes truck.

Yep, that happens. When I see it I leave a card ALL THE TIME after the culprit has left but with the info about the culprit.
The worst I saw once was a commercial truck with an unsecured load. He lost a 2x4 which smashed the window of the car behind him. The damaged car was able to pull off safely but the truck driver saw it too and did not stop!! I gunned it, he saw me and gunned it as well but I got the info and called it into ICBC, the provincial insurer. I hope they made him pay dearly 'cause this all happened on the freeway!!

That sucks - don't know if you believe in Kharma but I'd wager the prick or prickless wonder will have fate catch up from behind at blinding speed someday soon. You may be better off not finding who did it at this point.

The bumpers on the LJ are not very strong at all - they bend really easily. Of course, it still sucks to bend your bumper anywhere other than on the trail. I brushed a tree with mine (good sized tree, mind you) and it pushed it back pretty good. Didn't protect the fender at all, and I barely felt the impact in the cab. I was moving pretty slowly at the time...

Anyway, hope you get it sorted.

Robin

Thanks guys..
After giving it a lot of thought I'm sure it was one of our company trucks..
If I can find the truck then I'm going after the company for some sort of restitution.
What is a new bumper worth any one know? OR better yet what else fits???besides a $1000.00 ARB????

Tuse or Wed. when I go to get my oil changed I'm going to ask my mechanic to pull the bumper off.. to see if we can bend it back some what..

Wish me luck..

chances are you could hook the end of the bumper to a light post or a tree and jently pull it back into reasonable shape by just backing up...

sorry to hear, sure you didn't lend the truck to anyone?

that sucks, i know you love your baby...

Wayne you got that right.. I love my baby.
and it sucks..
Going to the garage after work tonight need an oil change and oil pan heater install.
Then we are going to have a look at the bumper..

I've asked if any one knows of any other bumper that would work besides the $1000.00 ones.. Had no replies . So I guess no one has tried to replace one on an LJ78 prado with something else. I have not the capabilities to make one or know no one that would.

the LJ and the heavy duty 70 series have different bolt patterns. i tried fitting one of my custom jobs from the HD to theLJ and it is a no go...

Thanks for the offer Dave..It is appreciated..
The shipping would probably be very high..

Just as an update.
I have used a chain, heavy duty commercial come along and strap hooked to a tree to pull the bumper down and away from the fender metal work..Lucky no dent or paint lost.. but do have a big dent in the bumper. (it's almost embarrassing to drive it around.)
Have drawn up a bumper plan on auto cad here and dropped off to my mechanic.
Just waiting to see how much it is going to hurt if I decide to go with it..
