Nice...Good luck with the expanded businees.

I like the time clock in post#40...Are you docking yourself if you punch in late?

It's a good way of keeping track of time on customers vehicles. Plus it was free.

Haven’t been on mud much lately so didn’t realize you opened a shop. Congratulations. That’s a big deal. I’m sure you’ll do well.

Thanks. Certainly didn't take long to run out of space. But the view from my desk is nice.

How is that blast heater you showed in an early pic treating you? Can't say I'm really happy to think of you breathing those fumes....are you running diesel in it or kerosene?

I had to heat my shop some 5 years back with a similar - ran HSD in it and not only did those fumes knock 40 points off my IQ (putting me into negative territory....), but the SO2 (or worse: H2S) in the exhaust tarnished every piece of brass in the shop. Ugh. Maybe I had to run it for far longer at a time than you do, but still....take care.

Works really well. I run it for an hr in the morning and once or twice again through the day. My shop has vents at the top and around the door so I always have bone chilling fresh air. Usually I can go all week on 20$ in gas and keep the shop in the 60's

After about 4 months of searching I finally got a vise. I'd been looking all over for one. A good one was crazy expensive and the cheap ones were well cheap. I really wanted something used and good quality. Most wiltons in my area were around 250 or more which seemed high. Finally found this one in an online auction. Got it for 120 so I'm happy. Will need some work but it should last a long long time.

WMH Tool Group (Wilton/Jet/Powermatic) showed us this contest they are holding on old vises and the stories behind them during a training session we had at work:

Some interesting stories and pics. in there, nice score on the vise!

Good find. The old Wiltons are hard to beat for price/quality. Glad to see you are keeping busy. PM sent regarding some service work on my 80.

Finally welded the legs on the bench and mounted the vise after giving it a good clean and lube. And then threw a quick coat of paint on the old gal to get her looking somewhat new again.
