Did you catch any fish up there?
Sure didn’t, and it didn’t look like anyone else was catching either. I didn’t whip the lake too much. I was more interested in fishing the Conejos on the way out, but...Labor Day weekend. There were people on every bend, it seemed.

you escaped the family Brandon?

Oh good job dude, glad you were able to get away for a quick recharge.

Nice trip, guys. I wasn't too far from you at the time. I have fished Kerr Lake a dozen times, both from shore and inflatables, and I think I've caught one fish... a RGCT about 12". That lake has ridiculous weed beds and I think if there are large trout in there, they simply have so much food available that they are hard to tempt on a fly. There are definitely more productive spots to fish, but for campsite, it's hard to beat.

Did anyone try the line to the right (going up) near the top of Elwood with the ridiculous mud hole? I ran the pass early this season and that thing was at least four feet deep, and near vertical on the uphill exit.

Cornwall Mountain and Conejos peak in the background, center....
