Okay so, the rotors I got for my rear disc conversion turned out to be the HD (too thick) rotors. The computer at Napa didn't specify that they were HD so both the clerk and me thought they were the right thickness. Wrongo, billy.
I can still get them to fit if I can trim just under 1/8" of material from each pad. The pads have more than plenty of material on 'em, so I'm not worried about severely recuding their effective life. Question is, what's a good way to do this? Only real method I can think of that's readily available to me is sticking each one in a vice and going at it with a belt sander using a rough belt. It's not a very precise or safe way to go, so I'd really only do this as a last resort. Thoughts? And don't say to get new rotors because I'm out of money for the next couple months and I WILL MAKE THIS WORK.
