Okay so, the rotors I got for my rear disc conversion turned out to be the HD (too thick) rotors. The computer at Napa didn't specify that they were HD so both the clerk and me thought they were the right thickness. Wrongo, billy.
I can still get them to fit if I can trim just under 1/8" of material from each pad. The pads have more than plenty of material on 'em, so I'm not worried about severely recuding their effective life. Question is, what's a good way to do this? Only real method I can think of that's readily available to me is sticking each one in a vice and going at it with a belt sander using a rough belt. It's not a very precise or safe way to go, so I'd really only do this as a last resort. Thoughts? And don't say to get new rotors because I'm out of money for the next couple months and I WILL MAKE THIS WORK.

Yellow page a brake distributor and have them replace the pads with the desired thickness. I have had shoes relined with new linings when no replacements were available. It has been some years but I do not think it was expensive. A machine shop could probable turn your pads to the desired thickness and they would be flat. If your budget is toast possible a run through a table saw would give you a pritty flat surface to go with?

Just some ideas.

Duct tape them to the bottoms of your shoes, then glide down the block speed-skater style for a couple of hours. 1/8" gone in no time.

Sorry, I got nothin'.

So no one makes the correct rotor? Where does TSM get 'em?

No no no, I just ordered the wrong ones because the computer at Napa failed to specify that these ones were the HD/extended cab rotors. I ordered 'em thinking that they were the right ones.

To be honest, I'm not sure where TSM gets theirs.
