Hi all,
We have a few superchargers available in Australia for our LC80's. Bullit, for example. Cost of the kit is around $4,500.

IS it possible to still get the TRD 'charger, and if so, how much, AND, will is suit RHD with no EGR as used in a 1995 Australian spec 80 series. A freind of mine has a Bullit, but the packaging is 'tight' beyond belief, plus it just doesn't have OEM-type quality. The mounting brackets etc= wotk of art. The intake and outlet castings look cheap, feel cheap.

Anyway, just putting some feelers out !

Cheers,
Alex.

Trdparts4u.com lists them for $3700.00 US. They show in stock.

issue is overheating with those units unless you intercool
Intercooler lowers the temp on the intake charge, not the engine coolant. My SC rig runs as cool as the naturally aspirated rigs around here with the same mods. John

Alex, One thing to remember is the US guys drive on the other side of the road so...
putting the TRD kit on an Oz vehicle means you need to consider how to route air intake to the throttle body around the Vacuum Booster (not too difficult) and if a manual the clutch master cylinder too (more difficult, but got it sorted after a few different set ups).

Of all things... a Ford XR Turbo flexible intake hose was the solution in the end.

I believe the blower itself is no longer in production and with the cost of getting a new setup certified I'd suspect that these 22 will be the last we see of them.

CDan and I talked about these last week and both of us would agree with you.

Give me a propt guys. I can not buy it now. Have to wait until mid october. What are your expectations about sales. Would it be all sold out until that date ?

Sorry for the stupid question, but is premium fuel (98 octane) obligatory when having TRD installed ??
I often travel to countries when there is 91 octan only available. I wonder if that fact does not exclude TRD supercharger use...

I would be interested in hearing about your personal experiences with overheating on a TRD Supercharger, as sold by Toyota, and how an intercooler has resolved those issues.

What about my octane question. Will TRD run on 91 octane rough siberian gasoline ?

With most superchargers you do need to run premium fuel. I am pretty sure this one is no different. It is hard to compare our octane rating here in the US with yours because I think our 93 is your 98. So 91 would be like 85 or 86 for us, which is our low grade fuel.

If that is true that means s\c is useless when using your tlc as an expedition vehicle... I could only travel around civilizated areas where I can find a premium shell gasoline. That means an urban cruiser... not land cruiser.

Same is turbo ? Also premium fuel only ?

Buy your octane as a fuel additive in the civilized areas and add it during fill ups while in the bush.
