Hello all!

I am trying to track down a fairly large leak that appears to be coming from this cover on my transmission (see pic). I can't find anything online as far as a gasket or even anything about this cover.
I found the PTO cover and gasket, but that is on the transfer case. What is it and how can I seal it up?

Thanks!
Doug

That is a pto/inspection cover, Kurt at Cruiseroutfitters or your local Toyota for that stuff.
I thought the PTO cover was on the transfer case, not the transmission. Am I mistaken?

The transmissions depending on the year had PTO covers. The H42 that came with my 1978 just had the boss and no cover.

IIRCC 74 and 75 H42's had the pto cover on the trans also, later trans just did away with the bolt on cover

You can purchase gasket paper at any auto parts store and make your own gasket by tracing the cover.

Thank you all. I will make a gasket.

Cheers!
