transmission ? Is this normal (1 Viewer)

I recently had the t/c rebuilt on my 76 fj40. When I got it back I've noticed that when in 3rd the tranny gets louder and then is quiet when shifted into 4th. It also will pop out of 3rd sometimes. I cant recall that it did this before the t/c rebuild. Should I be worried about this?

well, popping out of gear is never a good thing.

You might take your shifter off and check that there are THREE detent springs.

CAREFUL not to drop anything into the transmission.


Does it pop out of 4th ever? If not, disregard my last suggestion.

no, it doesn't pop out any other gear.
