Transmission drain a refill with Valvoline ATF fluid?

Eh, that's not what my comment was insinuating. My thought process is that it's almost impossible to get all of the transmission fluid out for a fluid swap so the easiest method is to (multiple) drain and refill with factory fluid.

Which ATF is best.

Well, I am a big believer in OEM parts, that includes fluids. I'm one of the few that uses OEM brake fluid, which not even dealerships due, unless requested (up charge). Dealership may even use bulk WS ATF (non Toy WS), I know some do. But based on price they charge, which their always very proud of when pricing. I'd guess the Toy WS ATF 1 L bottle, is not a full synthetic. Toyota is more and more going to privet labeling. But as of today, they still disclose who makes the Toy WS ATF; "Exxon Mobil".

Some years ago, I talked with Mobil 1 (M1) support, about M1 WS ATF. They had/have a Mobil 1 (M1) ATF rated for Toy WS. But, it is not sold in the USA. I really like the M1 MV ATF full syn, in the 98-02. But for the 03LC/LX, OM calls for Toy IV, and then 04-up Toy WS ATF. I can't imagine we need a different ATF in 03, but I stick with OM recommendation.

Mobil 1 and Mobil are division of Exxon Mobil (Manufacture of Toyota ATF). M1 is top shelve and Mobil one shelf below. Just in the last 6 to 12 months. Mobil reformulated their synthetic blend MV AFT, to a full synthetic. The Mobil MV full synthetic ATF is rate for: Toyota/Lexus/Scio: Scion FZ, Type D-II, Type T, Type T-III, Type T-IV, Type WS (JWS 3324). So I'm now giving it a try. I've put in a 03LX also 06LC, and now I'll do a 11LC. I'll still use the M1 MV ATF in 89-02 and all Power steering, with as it's supper cool running ability (love the stuff). But now I've full synthetic option for Toy IV & WS.

Anyone one else try the new Mobil MV full synthetic?

How is it performed?

How is it performed?

Seems fine. But I've very few miles on Mobil MV ATF and only around town in my 03. The 06LC is on 5K miles cross country road trip now, and I've heard nothing bad.

I'm looking right now for a good blue tooth OBD for iphone. That lets me log ATF temp, for 98-up. I'd like to get some hard data in various condition, various 100 and 200 series.

Also I need to find out why I can not read some data, which includes ATF. With my miniVCI cable through techstream in 200 series. I'm prepared to full flush a 11LC with 14qts of Mobil MV ATF now. But held up as I'd like to run temp before and after.

Anyone have any thoughts as to why my miniVCI works well in 100 series and not 200 series?
