Has anyone replaced the check plug on the transmission with a standard hex head? The Allen key is all messed up so when I get it out I would like to replace it with something more serviceable.

If they are tightened to specified 15 ft/lb torque they are problem free.

I think the part number for the stock check plug is 90341-10021 and it is very cheap. If you really want to find something else that will fit, maybe pick one of those up and try to match the thread size/pitch but with a flanged head bolt.

Personally I'd just order two of those and have a spare in case you mess up the replacement.

Drain/check plug gasket is 35178-30010 btw
