Howdy everyone,

95 FZJ80 with A442 transmission. transmission started slipping a little this past week when over 80kph. shop flushed trans, first time since I owned it, and fluid was terrible. shop recommended new torque converter, but will probably grab one from junkyard.

do the US cruisers have any issues with trans? assuming this is just not maintained from PO.

with all that said, I could easily have them convert to manual as well, either 151 or 152. woudl the manual work with the HF2A and diff locks? not sure how transmisision is involved in all that.

truck is in Kuwait, so parts vehicles, at least for the H series would not be an issue.

Thanks for any replies.

Basics: make sure the fluid level is correct, adjust the "kickdown" cable, and replace the solenoids if the shifting is still weird. A442F is normally very reliable, though my original grenaded. Junkyard replacement has been great so far though.
