I was crawling under my 97 yesterday and noticed the transfer case was replaced by the PO. I also noticed a mounting bracket on the passenger side that wasn't attached to anything. It looks similar to a motor mount or tranny mount, you know, big rubber thing with a bolt in the center. Seems like it should be connected to a mounted plate off the frame rail. The FSM doesn't mention this mount. Am I missing a bracket?

    Thanks for the help

    Tom

    Tom,

What you are seeing is a vibration counter-weight. It just hangs out in the breeze. All of the 343 equipped 80's have one. The bus transmission 442's do not require one ::)

Is there supposed to be a weight in addition to the rubber mount/counter weight? My bolt is sticking out about a 1/4 inch , but appears to be tight.
    Thanks,
    Ian
