Guys,
I'm wrapping up a t-case rebuild on my '84. I elected to rebuild the case on the truck rather than dropping the transmission. It's been a helluva project for me but the finish line is in sight.
SO, my issue right now is with the linkage. I'm guessing the solution is probably incredibly obvious/lame.
Specifically, I need to remove the linkage in order to install the dust boot. I managed to slip the shaft past the white square bush on the linkage when tearing down. How can I easily (relatively speaking) remove this while its on the truck? The FSM provides very little insight.
The first photo is my TC. The second photo I borrowed from another post. Will removing these two bolts in this bracket allow me to move the linkage out far enough to slide on my dust boot? The top bolt (red arrow) is going to be a struggle. Or is there a better way?
Thanks in advance.
Ed
