G'day guys,
Transfer case on my hzj75 is leaking a heap from the top of the case, can't see exactly where as the tailshaft is spinning the oil everywhere as it falls down onto it. Any idea if it's an expensive job to replace seals or if its easy enough to do myself? Also would stop leak additives help at all?
Cheers

Welcome.

Please provide more info such as model TC, pictures, location, etc.

Howdy! Could it be just leaking from the seal on the rear output shaft, and then the rotation of the shaft is flinging it all over the place? Fluid level is usually no higher than the output shaft, so not too many places to get a bad leak up high. John

I'm with Inkpot.
Think there's hardly any possibility for the X-fer to leak other than the output shaft.
Or one of the switches (indicator and 4WD select if your's is fully manual) must have come off but that's very unlikely. They're high up on the casing.

Clean it up and have another look after a short drive. Stop leak will not work.
You might as well spend a little more and do the bearings.

How easy it is to do depends on your mechanical skills.
There is free factory manuals at the top of the forum(body and chassis 84-90 will cover your T/case)
I think it would cost about $900 parts + labour if you have to pay someone.
There are prices for gaskit and rebuild kits on ebay to compare
