Hi there, I did a search for this and found a few answers but I thought I would ask directly.

I need a new transfer case. It is an early model type with a 34mm idler shaft out of my (early) 84 BJ60 with H55F.

Which trucks would have this transfer case in them?

Is there a 'code' for this transfer case?

much appreciated.

Dave

Anyone?

the nicest swap is one out of a 81-82 BJ42/60 with the 4 speed tranny, this is a direct bolt in to your existing case and will give you a 2.3 / 1 low range...
cheers

Thanks Wayne.

Here is my dilemma: I have Marks low ratio gears in my current case. They are great except that my case is so worn out (850,000 kms on the case, 2nd rebuild, soft aluminum) that there is allot of play in the gears, thus they are very loud. To remedy the situation I need a newer or lower mileage case.

I just need to know if a non-H55F case will work with these gears or not. Are they the same? Will the gears still fit if I get a transfer case off of a 4 speed?

Any infomation would be greatly appreciated.

i missed this, sorry.

Thanks for the reply.

I now understand that any case with a 34mm idler shaft will fit my gears and tranny.

I noticed in an old Man a fre catalog there was a factory cast iron transfer case shell available. Does anyone one know if this will work with 34mm marks gears?
Thanks,

Dave

never heard of a cast iron for these...interesting

Banderantes had one,not sure if its interchangeable with a cruiser though

In my book there a same split case ( BF1A ) one with 34mm and other one with 38mm but honestly never compared in detail case with case .. I see both are the same ..
