So I am at a stealer to get trans fluid changed on my 09 LX and they are telling me the transmission needs to “cool” for about 5hrs? They said it has to do with getting level correct. Doesn’t makes sense but not real sense as the fluid is warm when level is checked or is it supposed to be cold?

to adjust the fluid level it has to be between 95-115 if I remember correctly. I always told customers that if they were getting the trans serviced to drop it off over night so we could do it in the morning. its easier to warm the trans up then it is to cool it down. 5 hrs dosnt seem all that off to me to allow the truck to cool down

Bigredmachine beat me to it. Check temp is relatively low and it’s easy to overshoot it through normal trans warmup rate even at idle.
