I need to support the trans with a floor jack while i remove the rear cross member and remove the t case. I have been told to put wood blocks under the trans. I just watt to make sure that if i put some wood blocks under the trans pan skid plate that it will hold. I am talking about the thin OEM skid plate that covers our trans pan just in front of the t case. It is a nice flat area that i can make a 2x4 support that will distribute the weight over the flat plate. Is that right?

thinking like this? feels a little sketchy

I would NOT place it under the PAN like that. I would make it so the blocks go up the sides and support where the bolt heads are, but NOT in the center of the pan itself! Make it like a giant C shape.

Take the skidplate off and use the support with wood blocks on the actual thing you're holding up.

Good idea, kind of a no brainer. As soon as I posted this it dawned on my how stupid I was being. Thanks.
