I thought, the tranny pan gasket was seeping. Brought it to a shop for a look and all they did was replace the tranny's dipstick tube o-ring.

Anyone ever have this problem?

I've heard this a few times so it might not be a rare issue. Have you ever overfilled your tranny? (or the PO if applicable...)

Just to clear things up... it's not the o-ring on the dipstick itself. It's the o-ring on oil filler tube.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

Where the tranny oil filler tube fits into the tranny body there is an o-ring. This o-ring went bad.

By "tranny body" you mean tranny pan.

Yup.

It's lame, and a weak link IMO. I keep my filler tube/pan junction taped up.
