After dropping a ton of dough on synthetic fluid and a little cash on the cooler, I finally am almost done installing it.

question - the fittings that came with the kit are leaking when they meet the stock lines. i have the lines run like it says in the faq. do i need teflon tape, or do i just need to man up and tighten the fittings down?

the fittings seemed to thread just fine but should i look for a different fitting?

If the fittings are compression type, man up & tighten them a bit more. If non compression, tape them. Compression type will have some style of bevel on one piece & a cone shape to the other where they meet

The fitting on the hose is inverse flare. The fitting on the tranny is adjustable inverflare and uses a O-ring. One is 10 mm and the other 14 mm both with 1.5 mm threads. I forget which is which.

If the fitting you have for the hose does not have an inverse flare bevel to mate with the hose end bevel, it won't seal well. You can use a counter sink to make the bevel in the fitting, but amke sure it doesn't chatter while you're drilling it or it will never seal.
