In preparing an off-road trailer for use with my 2F and FJ60, I have run into a few questions. I am hoping that some of you can help...
1. Tow weight - the M416 trailer I am having built will have a target weight of 1200 to 1500 lbs max when loaded. I think I'll go SOA with some type of shocks. I this a reasonable weght limit for on raod and off road towing with my 60 (I have an H55F tranny)??
2. Tongue weight - What is the reasonable limit for tongue weight, assuming that I use Alcan or OME springs calibrated for the load?
3. Do I need a weight distributing hitch with this type of set up and towing just 1200 to 1500 lbs? I am currently planning a custom rear bumper with integral 2" reciever hitch - pintle for off road, 2" ball for the highway.
