If yer gonna post the links, post both sides

TG has pissed some folks off, but they don't condone this stuff and have pulled their sponsership from the guy.

You can bash 'em if you want, but this is just looking for an excuse. IMO.

Thanks for the link... Trail Gear took the easy way out and removed the sponsership from this guy instead of taking the blame. I still blame Trail Gear since it was their sponsored event.

I know that there's some bad blood between Trail Gear and another well known vendor...

but if this dipshit was sporting a sticker from that other vendor and was doing this, would you feel the same? would you hold the other vendor responsible for some asshat's actions?

So if some slant-headed green guy who shall remain nameless had a few to many soda pops and pissed on the side of Goebs' trailer at 3AM rather than walk to the designated rest room 3 miles away, would it be Hoosiers Cruisers fault for sponsering the event, or Toyota's fault because the Trail Team was there at the time?

Neither. It's Woody's fault because he overserved said nameless guy in the first place. :flipoff2:

Maybe it was Eric's fault for leaving his camper where it could be pissed on. :D

It sure as Hell wasn't MY fault.:D

You can't hold the vendor responsible for someone carrying his sticker. Otherwise, woody would have been in trouble years ago.

I think we need to back off here and let the dust settle. It's very likely by what I read that the "tree" incident happened without Chris's knowledge.

George is not Chris's biggest fan and may not be completely objective here.

I think we all agree that driving on live trees is a bad thing and if we think about it, the driver is the person first and foremost at fault.

I'm not taking sides here, just think we should let the dust settle a bit before we jump on TG. Because if we are wrong, we are severly damaging a mans reputation and livelihood and those are hard to fix after the fact.

Now while we back off and wait (no pilings) lets all have some popcorn and beer.

Damn, I can't find the popcorn
Ohh wait here it is . reffug, pass the beer

hold on, maybe i am wrong but i know that we sponsor trail events as well but that doesn't mean we control the event.
was Trail Gear a sponsor OR a coordinator? if they were just a sponsor then how do you figure they are responsible for the damage?

    hummm...

No, Hobie is not an employe. He is a Competitor thatis sponsored by TG.

The pics that were offending never got on the TG website.

maybe, i go on the sponsored runs but i have no control over what others may do...

so, should you be right and one of the employees were doing the damage, what do you think TG should do to rectify the matter in your eyes?

It was my impression from the posts that the pics were up on the TG website but later removed. Draw your own conclusion but ... it was a TG sponsored event, the driver was partially sponsored by TG, the pics were up on the TG website, and got there by a TG employee. At least that's what I read.

The pics started on Pirate. And were put there by Hobie. At most they were linked on the TG website by others. There was never anything in print that said TG endorsed these practices.

    Read better :flipoff2:

    from the trail gear website:

"Trail-Gear Inc. invites you to join us for trail run this summer. Come meet the staff and check out one one the longest rock trails in the country. We will be running the trail August 25-26 & 27. We will be entering via Voyager Rock on the 25th. If your would like to join us for this run, please an email us with your full name and the year and model of the truck you will be driving. All vehicles should be equipped with front and rear lockers, body armor and 35" or larger tires.

    Signup Here..."

so I would say a coordinator.

I have no real input or insight, just stumbled across that earlier while following the bag O links on the PBB thread.
