I got stuck in the mud yesterday, and as the TRAC engaged, it made a loud clicking, the question I have is that normal, or do I need to have this checked out. I ended up burying my front wheel deep in the mud and had to wench my way out.

x3 normal. I get it A LOT in the mud...

You should not get TRAC noise in the mud unless your wheels are moving slowly and are bogged down. If you're on the gas heavy the wheels will spin freely without TRAC kicking in. Again, unless the goo is so thcik the wheels are spinning slowly.

I was on the highway doing about 65 when I hit a deep puddle caused by a clogged curb drain. Had I realized how deep it was, I would have slowed. About half a second into the puddle the truck began to yaw, with the rear kicking out to the right, I was in a slight left-handed bend. As soon as I notice the yaw, I heard several loud banging and popping noises come in random from arious wheel and the trac light flashed on.

It scared the living h*ll our of me, but I also immediately stopped the yaw and brought the truck back to where I had it pointed. Worked, but noisy.

Glad you're safe. You were so freaked you seen the wrong light. :D

VSC kicked in and the system went BEEP BEEP BEEP. :)

Ha. Well, some light, I guess it was yellow, not green. But, isn't VSC simply TRAC in reverse?

TRAC in reverse is nothing. You eaither have wheelspin with a no-trac vehicle or you have TRAC when clawing fro traction.

VSC measures several things in skidding-type situations. VSC applies brakes on a per-wheel basis depending what will bring the vehicle into control. It also cuts throttle.
