Is the air box shaped the same way as the filter? Could be they both are "warped?"

Are the Made in USA filters Denso as well?

The USA filters are Denso too.

I went to the Denso website DENSO Aftermarket: Catalog Search From DENSO Aftermarket: Performance Aftermarket Automobile Parts - Automobile Car Parts and found that they have the same part # for the LC and 4R.

Sub Model Engine DENSO Part # Location Notes Sub-Notes Extra Notes Part App
--- V8 / 4.7L (ID: 2UZFE) 143-2083

Their cross reference tools also shows
Manufacturer Interchange Part Number DENSO Part Number
LEXUS 17801-50040 143-2083
TOYOTA 17801-50040 143-2083

The Part # 17801-07010 for the 4R does not cross reference on the Denso site.

I'll take apart the airbox this weekend.

BTW this airfilter can be bought directly from denso distributor for < $17

I bought a OEM LC filter from CDan that also had that curvature. I was thinking it was by design. Since the clean air exits the filter from the top, the center part of the filter is actually held tighter due to the concave curvature. Currently, I have a denso filter (from densoproducts.com) that doesn't have the curve. The box to both filters say they are made in Japan.
