Toyota Landcruiser A442F Extreme Stage II Recalibrated Valve Body
Rodney Hudson-Davies posted at 4/10/2005

Another new development to come out of our Technical, Development and Motorsports department is our new 4 Speed A442F Extreme Duty Valve Body kit to suit all 80 and 100 series Toyota Landcruisers. This new valve body kit can be fitted by any confident mechanic and will transform your transmission into a quick and sharp shifting unit that will be capable of enormous towing capacity.

This new Extreme Valve Body kit has passed an 18 month test period that also included both Turbo Charged and Super Charged Landcruisers and was tested to 3 tons of towing capacity with a 6 meter box trailer ( See Photos Below ). The new Valve Body kit has not only been well designed to suit the standard factory engines including both the Turbo Charged and Super Charged units but will also handle all future V8 engine transplants with the introduction of new adaption kits that allow even the big V8`s to be coupled up to the factory auto`s using our Valve Body Kit.

Wholesale Automatics have a same day fitting service for all of our Extreme Valve Body Kits and can even update your own Valve Body to our specifications if you are unable to get your vehicle to us. We can also supply adaption kits to suit your Landcruiser.

I'm running one in my A440F (a stage 1). It's very nice. Fast, firm shifts but not harsh.

Hello Moby, please tell me your difference experience driving your Cruiser!!!!!!!!

I supose that my Extreme Valve Body arrieves in 10-15 days

Regards

Miguel

Why yo change your old valve body ?

My 80 series tranny ( A442F ) works perfect except the shift when i go in segond gear and shift to third gear ( is a little bit slower and have a retard of 1 o 2 seconds, only if i accelerate, if y don't accelerate it shifts correctly ). My specialist of tranny thinks that the problem is that loses pressure of ATF the valve body ( the tranny was repaired 1 year ago ), and i buy this 80 series 4 month ago and i make it " repair again " the Tranny and is all OK, but the original Valve Body perhaps is " damaged ".

Why you chage your old Valve Body to an EXTREME VALVE BODY ?

Yours Tranny Sintoms before you change it ?

Thank You!!!

Miguel

I changed my valve body because the A440F shifts soft and slowly in stock form. I also wanted the 3rd gear lockup as several of the mountain passes in my area require holding the transmission in 3rd gear. The transmission was previously rebuilt and had no problems when I switched to the new valve body. So I wasn't so much trying to cure a problem as improve upon the stock behavior.

Unfortunately I don't remember the exact price. Maybe $650? There is a core charge so you have to include the return shipping costs as well.

The stage II is a firmer shift. The feedback that I got from others in the 60s section that are running the stage II is that it would still be reasonable for a daily driver. I talked to Rodney about it and for my scenario (built 3FE but not a V8 or diesel) I went with stage I.

WE have a problem with one of the toy autos in a HJ61 with a 12HT diesel.

Long long story, but in the end it feels as if the tranny itself is resonating a vibration at 60 MPH at a certain rpm in overdrive, switch it into 3rd and the deep resonating noise goes away?

Wonder if the valve body coule help with this problem.

Doubt it, that sounds like a bearing/gear issue. All the VB does is regulate pressure to different parts of the tranny.

Sorry not too highjack, but we changed out the drive shaft and rear third and it still there?

Tcase bearings look really good.

Who gonna sell those kits in USA ..? would be nice .. and I would be interested .. year ago I was talking with Rodney .. but the price to send my tranny to Australia was nice .. :) ( oil barrel at 68 USD )

Slee used to sell these for both the A440 and A442 and also full Extreme transmissions. Not sure exactly why they stopped.

I thought the extreme valve body are one of those product that you can sell alone . .. those of you need to offer with a instalation.

Surpriseme, that are not a place in USA like Rodney in Australia ..
