Hey guys, I've fitted an aftermarket fuel tank and sender. Hoping to use the factory fuel gauge.

I'm working with a 0-90ohm sender.

40 series? What year are we talking about?
As you can see in this pic the sender till sept '72 is 2.1 - 6.5 Ohm and from sept. 72 is 17 - 120 Ohm.

Maybe it works but it's not accurate. I don't like the 0 Ohm. That means that the full current goes through the gauge instead of a limited amount.
For more info on this subject look here: ► https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/544543-clusters-gauges-odo-meters.html

Good luck,

Rudi

Thanks mate but it's a 1997 HZJ75, I was hoping the senders were generalized.

OK, Maybe you can put that info in your signature line.

Makes life easier for people who want to help.
