Toyota Clutch Bearing Retainer?? (1 Viewer)

I took this off an SM420. I got to looking at things and started wondering if this is a Toyota Bearing Retainer. Does anyone know for sure?

If so, I’m wondering why someone mounted a Toyota retainer on an SM420? I can understand that it helps resolve the matching of the Clutch Release Bearing and the retainer shaft diameter, but does the Toyota Retainer adequately retain the SM420 bearing. Is this a acceptable set-up?
