What years and what models of LC's had this setup? Does the 3Fe have the same diz and side cover? I know late '40's had it, all?'60's, but what about the 62's? I'd just like to find the latest, newest rig to pull one from.

Thanks!

Ed

3FE is different, will not work. I cannot remember if the coil/ignitor will work.

A year ago you could buy a reman distributor from Napa for ~$100.

'81-'87 for the big cap.

Later 40's (before '81) had a small-cap electronic diz.

8/80 fj40, fj60, not 62. No year is better then the other.

I suspect the 3fe coil/ignitor would work, but not tried it

There happens to be a setup in the for sale section ;)

Degnol, the last model year to get a big cap dizzy would be the 87 FJ60.

Apparently, sor.com indicates that the small and large caps are interchangeable according to the website. But there are differences, according to Jim Chenaworth. Namely the arcs differ on the large and small cap dizzys. You can interchange them and the rigs will run. Now I am not an expert on how different the arcs are and whether they will make any sizeable performance difference, but a difference yes.

Do a search...this one has been hashed a bit.

Thanks, I'm currently working a deal with Mace. You'll probably see a future post about how to wire it. I currently run an HEI with a relay and I'm happy with it, but since I'm putting in a refreshed 2F, I thought I'd go back Toyo.
I'm stoopid about what you mean by Arc. Can you help me?

Thanks,

Ed
